Join us for Online Scholastic Book Fair! Our Book Fair is open from November 8th until November 21st. Parents can find a book suited to any student in grade levels K-12.

On Monday, November 16th, Windsor Charter Academy will begin to enroll new incoming siblings of current students for the 2021-2022 school year. To be offered a spot for a sibling, our Registrar’s Office must have a Letter of Intent submitted for your incoming child.

The band room has been relatively quiet this fall, but with the help of our high school administrative team and extensive consultation with our school’s Registered Nurse, Sara Ibarra, that may be able to change very soon!

On Thursday, October 29th, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., My Colorado Journey is hosting a virtual family workshop to help navigate college financial aid. This webinar is free!

The Halloween Committee of Windsor Charter Academy’s National Honor Society (NHS) is planning several events for the upcoming holiday. On October 30th, high school students will celebrate with an in-school costume contest.

Windsor Charter Academy is excited to offer open practice sessions for our high school girls’ soccer team! Coach Drips will be hosting open practices at the high school soccer field. Practices will occur on Mondays and Fridays from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., between November 2nd through December 18th.

Last week, parents of 9th, 10th, and 11th graders should have received an email about the expectations for PREPWORKS. We would like for all 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students to work 90 minutes a week to prepare for the PSAT and SAT.

Windsor Charter Academy is proud to celebrate College Week! College Week is November 2nd through November 6th. We will celebrate our strong college-going culture and continue to encourage students to think about their college and career plans.

WCA is excited to announce the new Firebird Writing Center, opening Tuesday, October 20th! The Firebird Writing Center is available to all high school students who need help with writing assignments for any class. The Firebird Writing Center is not an editing service; rather, its purpose is to help students build their writing skills.

WCA staff and administration have been intentional and thoughtful in our safety plans as we transition to four days of in-person learning. Students and staff will continue to adhere to health and safety protocols by wearing masks, cleaning surface areas, and hand sanitization.

WCA's Parent-Teacher Club (PTC) would like your help to treat our teachers and staff with Boo Baskets! Families can put together a fun basket of treats ($10 suggested value) with candy, gift cards, or other trinkets! Send your basket to the school with your student by October 28th. Baskets can be delivered to classroom teachers or to the front office. All Boo Baskets will be delivered on October 30th!

Online schooling during COVID-19 has has drastically changed the amount of time children spend on the internet. The internet provides dynamic opportunities to learn and connect with others, but also introduces risks, including: cyber bullying, exposure to inappropriate material, online predators, sexting, and over-sharing of personal information. During this seminar, Robb Miller, Assistant District Attorney at the Weld County District Attorney's Office, will provide vital information regarding how parents can keep their children safe in the digital world.

Several high school juniors are registered to take the PSAT/NMSQT on Wednesday, October 14th. Students registered for this exam should plan to be at school no later than 8:15 a.m. to check in.
